This year, Peterbilt Truck Parts & Equipment is honored to step up as a sponsor of Nevada Day 2025, joining in the celebration of our state’s rich history, vibrant culture, and the spirit of community. Nevada Day is a longstanding tradition, and we’re excited to be part of the festivities that bring our communities together.

Nevada Day isn’t just a parade or local event — it’s a moment to reflect on heritage, unity, and the values that drive us forward. Peterbilt’s commitment to Nevada goes beyond trucks and parts. It’s about being part of the fabric of this state, investing in its people, and supporting its future.
By sponsoring Nevada Day, we aim to:
Nevada Day 2025 kicks off on Nov. 1 in Carson City with the “Wild Wild West” parade as a centerpiece. Expect floats, marching bands, historic demonstrations, balloons, and more — all bringing Nevada’s story to life. Peterbilt will have a presence there, showing our support and celebrating alongside Nevada families and businesses. Keep an eye out for one of our trucks in the parade!
As a sponsor, Peterbilt will be there not just as a logo, but as a committed participant — engaging with attendees, sharing our passion for innovation and service, and celebrating what makes Nevada unique. We look forward to seeing you in Carson City, waving from the parade, and sharing in the pride of this special day.
Whether you’re coming to see the floats or just soaking in the festive energy, we hope you’ll stop by and say hello. For updates, parade route info, and more, check out the official Nevada Day website.
Together, let’s make Nevada Day 2025 one to remember.

We’re excited to share that Northern Nevada Business Weekly recently featured Marty Makrdichian, Director of Service at Peterbilt Truck Parts & Equipment in Sparks, for his appointment to the Nevada Kids Foundation Board of Directors.
Marty has been a dedicated supporter of the foundation since its inception in 2021, rallying his Peterbilt team to get involved and helping facilitate the annual Texas Hold ’Em charity poker and bingo tournament hosted at our Sparks location.
This recognition in NNBW shines a light on Marty’s leadership both at work and in the community. His passion for supporting local children reflects the values we live by at Peterbilt—service, commitment, and community impact.

Our very own Anne Keele, Chief Financial Officer of Peterbilt Truck Parts & Equipment, was honored as one of Nevada Business Magazine’s 2025 Women to Watch on Aug. 6, 2025, in Las Vegas.

Chosen from hundreds of nominations, Anne was recognized for her remarkable career, leadership, and deep commitment to the northern Nevada community.
Anne’s journey with Peterbilt spans over 31 years, beginning at the front desk and growing into her current role overseeing every aspect of the business—from accounts payable to truck sales and inventory control. Her leadership extends far beyond the office; she’s a gifted musician who has performed with the Reno Philharmonic for 20 years and now volunteers with the Reno Pops Orchestra. She also serves as treasurer for the Northern Nevada Rural Concert Initiative, bringing live orchestral music to rural communities and mentoring young musicians.
When asked about her career path, Anne admits it surprises people that she works in trucking:
“Trucks were never on my radar, but I’ve grown to love the industry—its evolving technology, its vital role in our economy, and its constant change.”
Anne’s advice to the next generation of female leaders is as inspiring as her career:
“Trust your voice and value your worth. Lead with authenticity, integrity, and confidence—especially in fields where women are underrepresented. Seek mentors who inspire you and be a mentor yourself.”
We are incredibly proud to see Anne recognized among such an accomplished group of women who are shaping Nevada’s future. Congratulations, Anne, on this well-deserved honor!

We’re proud to share that our very own Lane Powell was recently featured in Northern Nevada Business Weekly’s “Smart Money” publication, offering insights into the evolving landscape of the trucking industry—especially in Northern Nevada.

In the article, Lane discusses the critical role our region plays as a shipping and distribution hub and how factors like tariff policies and environmental regulations are reshaping freight demand, pricing, and logistics networks. From supply chain disruptions to CARB (California Air Resources Board) emissions mandates, these forces are having a direct impact on how goods move across the western U.S.—and the trucks that make it possible.
“Trucks transport approximately 72% of all imported goods in the U.S., valued at over $10 trillion annually,” Lane explains. “Even small shifts in policy or demand can have major ripple effects, especially in a region like Northern Nevada that depends on stable freight activity.”
We’re grateful to have Lane’s voice representing Peterbilt Truck Parts & Equipment and helping shine a light on the challenges and opportunities facing our industry.

It’s that time of year again — when the city of Reno transforms into the heart of the West. From June 18 to June 28, the 2025 Reno Rodeo takes over, bringing excitement, tradition, and community pride to northern Nevada. At Peterbilt Truck Parts & Equipment, we’re proud to sponsor this incredible event — a symbol of our region’s hard work, grit, and Western spirit.

Known as the “Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West,” the Reno Rodeo has been a staple since 1919. Each year, more than 140,000 fans flock to the Livestock Events Center to experience everything from bull riding to barrel racing. The event is PRCA-sanctioned and ranks in the top 10 professional rodeos in the country — a source of pride for our community.
But it’s not just about entertainment. The Reno Rodeo has a strong charitable mission:
This year, we’re trading wrenches for ropes! Our Peterbilt Truck Parts & Equipment team is competing in the Steer Decorating event on Friday, June 27. This high-energy competition pairs two teammates: one ropes the steer while the other dashes to tie a ribbon on its tail. It’s fast, fun, and full of the teamwork and precision we use in the shop every day.
The values at the heart of the Reno Rodeo — resilience, reliability, and respect for tradition — align perfectly with what drives Peterbilt Truck Parts & Equipment. Whether we’re serving customers in the shop or supporting community events, we believe in:
We invite you to join us at this year’s Reno Rodeo. Come cheer on your favorite events, stop by and say hello, and help us celebrate everything that makes northern Nevada such a special place to live and work.
Saddle up, Reno — let’s make it a rodeo to remember!
At Peterbilt Truck Parts & Equipment, community isn’t just part of what we do—it’s part of who we are. This month, we’re honored to serve as the title sponsor of an event that combines two of our favorite things: great golf and giving back.
On Monday, June 16, the 3rd Annual Fairways for the Future Charity Golf Classic tees off at the beautiful Montreux Golf & Country Club in Reno. Hosted by the Nevada Kids Foundation, the tournament raises funds to support education programs, classroom resources, youth sports, and scholarships for children across Northern Nevada.
And yes, Montreux is just as exclusive as it sounds. Normally a private course, this is one of the few times each year the public gets to play its pristine greens—making the day even more special.
Every day, we rely on the power of preparation—making sure trucks are running safely, efficiently, and reliably. The same principle applies to young people. When kids are equipped with the tools, support, and opportunities they need early on, they’re far more likely to succeed later in life.
That’s the driving force behind the Nevada Kids Foundation’s work. Their programs provide essential school supplies, fund classroom wish lists, support youth athletics, and offer scholarships to students who need a hand up. As a local organization, they’re making a direct impact right here in our community—and that’s something we’re proud to stand behind.
Fairways for the Future is no ordinary charity golf event. This year, the tournament has expanded to include two full shotgun starts—one in the morning and one in the afternoon—allowing more participants to enjoy the course and contribute to the cause.
Golfers will enjoy a world-class round at Montreux while knowing their participation is helping to fund real change for kids in our region. From green fees to gear, it’s a day of good fun for a great purpose.
If you’re a golfer—or just someone who wants to support Nevada kids—there’s still time to sign up. A few afternoon foursome spots remain, and sponsorship opportunities are still available for local businesses looking to get involved.
Event details:
We hope to see you on the course—making memories, building connections, and most importantly, supporting the future of Nevada’s kids.

Lane Powell, the chief operations officer of Peterbilt Truck Parts and Equipment and Silver State International, explains the difference between leasing vs. owning a fleet of any kind in NNBW’s Smart Money section. It’s a critical decision many business owners and fleet managers face.
This choice impacts everything from upfront costs to long-term financial stability and operational flexibility. While both leasing and owning offer unique advantages, the decision depends on a variety of factors including business size, budget and long-term goals.

On Sunday, we teamed up with RennerVation Foundation and Nevada Kids Foundation to host A Little Red Truck Christmas Adventure . Over 150 local foster and at-risk youth and their families joined us for a day filled with holiday cheer. The day was filled with fun holiday activities hosted by Washoe County Sheriff, Ace Hardware, Friends of the Pack, and Upward Bound, and delicious treats from Dutch Bros, Doughboy Donuts, C’s Mad Hatter Bakery, and Daddy’s Tacos! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this day so special. ❤️

President of Peterbilt Truck Parts & Equipment and Silver State International, John Phillips, was recently featured in Stroll Magazine! At NFL Alumni’s 40th Annual Charity Golf Classic, he was recognized for his outstanding contributions to community service and received the ‘R.C. Owens Helping Hands Award’. Thank you John for all you do for our amazing community!

We’re honored to support the annual Thanksgiving meal for more than 250 Veterans and their families at the Washoe County Senior Center. It was a day filled with gratitude, good food, and even better conversations as we came together to thank our Veterans for their service.

More than 250 Veterans and their families gathered at the Washoe County Senior Center to eat an early Thanksgiving meal courtesy of several local businesses and organizations.
BJ’s Barbeque prepared the meal of turkey, potatoes, stuffing and the rest of the traditional Thanksgiving fare.
Those people serving the Veterans are from the Reno Corvette Club.
With such a large crowd it was all hands-on deck.
But those who came to help say they were more than willing to lend a helping hand.
“I knew it was above and beyond fabulous,” says Katie Hurst, with St Mary’s Hospice of Northern Nevada. “And being in hospice business it is really important to reach out to those who are on this side of their journey. And we couldn’t find a better calling.”
Plenty of donations came in to pay for the meal.
For those who bought a “Community 4 Veterans” raffle ticket last summer in front of the Sportsman’s Warehouse, this is where some of that money went.
This was the largest attended Thanksgiving Event for Veterans thus far at the Washoe County Senior Center.
It’s not just about the food for these men and women and their families.
“They are more appreciative of being able to get together and meet and share stories,” says Frank Greenwood, with Community 4 Veterans. “A lot of conversation is going on here that wouldn’t happen otherwise.”
Good conversation, a good meal, there’s a lot to be thankful for.
“Anyone who treats me nice, and all these people and it is such a beautiful thing,” says Veteran John McGovern.
This won’t be the last time Veterans get together for the holidays. Another meal is planned for Christmas on December 19th at the Washoe County Senior Center.
